dear JNU - 2

Dear JNU,

This is my Second Letter and trust me I have many more to write. So, continuing from where I left, I learnt a lot in my M.Phil time. Those days I didn't have a hostel so @amrigos being a sweetheart allowed me to stay in her room in Chandrabhaga Hostel, as she lived in Gurgaon.

Before that I was living with @deepicaelizabeth and @mingma25  and oh my God, what mad times they were. I remember there was a pub in Ambience Mall, I'm sure all students of JNU from the 2013-15 know about - Strikers ! They had a "Ladies Night" every Thursday and me, Mingma and Deepica used to go there almost every other Thursday. It was great fun.

Returning back from the mall, around 9-10 PM, crossing that highway before the foot - over bridge was built was no less than a task ! It was crazy and scary both at the same time. But as we entered JNU we felt so safe. JNU has always been our "Safe Space". The Mother Dairy Counter at the Mall Gate was always a Saviour for us when we wanted to have an icecream or flavored yogurt at the most reasonable rates. That walk from Mall Gate to Chandrabhaga Hostel was beautiful as we crossed the Faculty Flats, occasionally saw few Neelgais, fox, Porcupines etc. It was so amazing.

Chandrabhaga Mess was the best. Co-ed Mess was another added advantage, haha. But here I'm talking about the food ! The food, the variety, the quality was just so so good. I never found that kind of food in any of the messes of JNU. As a girl, you could always see guys looking at you and oh my, if you wore shorts and had even average legs, you were the star of the show ! But then there were good guys too, who approached me for Chai or Maggi. It was all cute. Chandrabhaga Hostel Life was short, like a few months only as I got my official hostel room soon after that. But the memories that I have with Mingma and Deepica shall always remain special. The birthdays, the random Parties, the submissions, and what not. Will talk about more fun stuff in the next letter.

For now, just want to end this letter with a song "Dil Dhoondhta Hai, Phir Wahi, Fursat ke Raat Din..."

Love, Medhavi
