5 Reasons to Watch  and not watch 'Half Girlfriend'

Watch it if :

1. You like Romantic films and good Chemistry: The film though has a little less bit on romance but is still a romantic film because of it's story intertwined around loving and losing. Watch it if you like Mohit Suri romances but don't expect it to be a timeless romantic film.

But, The Romance dies out when there are unreasonable twists. An independent Delhi University rich brat gets married after dropping college post the first year due to a temporary state of disturbed mind; the same Cancer diagnosis and lover running after the damsel in distress. The film is a mix of romance that you have seen in Aashiqui 2, Ki and Ka, Ek Villain, so I guess nothing much would surprise you.

2. You enjoy good music: One thing is certain that Mohit Suri films always have great music. So watch it to get an experience of good music coupled with great playback singers, lyrics and amazingly located  and directed song videos.

3. You like films defining Modern relationships: The film is all about people who are not ready for relationships because of their disbelief in perfect or true love. Thus they stand somehwhere between being friends and in love and can't judge where they are heading to. 

But, again there are unreasonable twists in the film. Throughout the film you will keep waiting to know the exact meaning of the term 'Half Girlfriend' because as they came into this relationship, soon they break up, but the question isnt answered in the entire film, but just the film tagline ;dost se zyaada, girlfriend se kam'. The good part is that the girl walks out of an abusive marriage as soon as she experienced the first sign, but the bad part is that the society, which has been defined majorly by the hero's mother isnt able to accept her as a normal woman who fought for her own peace and life.

4. Shradda Kapoor: Like always, she looks gorgeous. Her voice in different songs is mesmerizing. Her look, her acting, her styling was all commendable and great. 

But then again, there are questions left unanswered. The film shows the involvement of the Arjun's friends in his love life and life in general, but Shraddha's friends are not in sight ! They never ask her any questions, they are never curious about her spending so much time with a guy who is just not her type. Basically, her social circle is just shown to be around her but not involved with her in any other way. Lastly, you will get tired to accept the fact that she was a singer in the film but always sang only one song over and over 'Stay a little longer...'! Surely, we didnt want beyond a point. 

5. Chetan Bhagat Fan: If you read his novels and follow his novel film adaptations, then don't miss this one. Most of his novel adaptations have done well at the box office as they are generally better than the original novel. Be it '3 idiots' or '2 States' or 'Kai Po Che'. This time Bhagat has turned producer for Half Girlfriend. So, watch it if you love his work, just writing I meant !
